Organizers
The Safer Internet Conference is organized by The Polish Center for the Safer Internet Program (PCPSI), which has been working since 2005 to improve the online safety of children and young people. The Centre was established under the European Commission’s Safer Internet Programme and currently operates within the Digital Europe Programme.
The Centre is run by the NASK National Research Institute and the Empowering Children Foundation. Together, they carry out educational, research, and support activities aimed at children, young people, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
PCPSI’s activities include educating and strengthening the competencies of professionals in the area of children’s online safety, educating children and young people, providing support to children and families experiencing online risks, and combating illegal content on the internet.
As part of the Polish Safer Internet Programme Centre, the following services operate, among others: the Helpline for Children and Young People 116 111, the Helpline for Parents and Teachers on Children’s Safety 800 100 100, and Dyżurnet.pl – a reporting point for illegal content on the internet.
NASK National Research Institute is a state research institute supervised by the Ministry of Digital Affairs. It conducts scientific and research-and-implementation activities in the field of security, reliability, and efficiency of ICT networks. NASK manages the .PL domain registry and operates as a telecommunications provider. A key area of NASK’s activity is ensuring internet safety.
For over 30 years, we have been protecting children from violence and sexual abuse. We provide children and their caregivers with support, as well as professional psychological and legal assistance. We teach adults how to respond wisely and effectively to violence against children, and what to do when they suspect a child is being harmed. We support and engage parents in raising children with love and respect. We also work to influence Polish law to ensure it best protects the interests of the child. Every child deserves a childhood free from violence!
